So, Ummm....

It's been a very long time since I've ventured onto here.  I've been incredibly busy lately with many, many things.  And I still am busy with many, many things ... but the muse has started poking me again and I feel that, truly, for the first time in a very long time I MIGHT be ready to step back into the writing arena.

I know I said it before, but I don't think I really was ready then.  My confidence had been shattered, not only because of CERTAIN ISSUES that some of you are familiar with but also because I feel like maybe I was pushing myself too hard.  I was putting too much pressure on myself to CREATE SOMETHING and was forgetting the real reason why I write: because it's fun.  Because I love giving life to these characters.  Because stories need to be told.

This morning I woke up and wanted nothing more than to write.  I haven't felt that way in such a long time.  My fingertips were just ITCHING for a pen, a crayon, a keyboard -- anything to write with.  I still feel like that now, so today I'm going to create something.  And maybe tonight, I'll share it with you all.

But yes.  I think this is it for realz.  I think it's time to write.  And I think it's time to write some more Boots and Hearts.  So... that's how things are here.  What's happening with all you lovely sorts?

Week three for brigits_flame All Stars.  Literally JUST wrote this in about an hour, so it's probably riddled with errors and all that.  No real warnings for this one other than child birth and blood and implied sexual abuse.  This is a continuation from the last couple weeks, and the next to last entry for this series.

All Stars Week Two: Transcend

This is a continuation from week one.  WARNINGS: mention of raped and drug use and human trafficking/flesh trade.  I wouldn't recommend reading this at work.

This is not at ALL where I wanted to leave this piece … but time was short and the story was becoming very long.  I do hope to continue this into week two, if the prompts allow.  This is one of those stories that’s screaming at me to be written.  Anyway, I hope you enjoy!  And yes, my use of the prompt might be a little … liberal.  Had this gone to plan like I’d wanted, it would’ve been a lot less so.  Also not liking how the formatting's all weird.  *kicks formatting*

Quick Response

I'm doing something right now.  It might be an attempt at writing.  And it might be utter silliness.

Question: which do we like better?

Dr.  Allegory

Dr. Didactic

No wrong answer, and it's not super important.  I'm just indecisive.

Anyway, hi!  November's done enough that I feel like surfacing on a more than just-get-business-done-with basis.  Hope everyone's well.

Wake Me Up

When November ends.

Nothing personal, all, but I'm vanishing from here until NaNoWriMo is over.  It's already starting to get to me that everyone else is having a grand old time of things and I haven't got jack shit to show for fuck all.

If anyone needs to contact me, shoot me an email, text, or PM.  I'm certainly willing to offer support if you need it, but I can't be on here seeing all these NaNo updates right now.  It's doing very bad things for me.  Good luck to all of you and I wish you all the best in creating the awesomeness you're all capable of.

Peace out.

Brigits Flame: Week Two

Alright, here we go for week two.  Overall, I am MUCH happier with this week's entry.  It's long and it's still setting the stage for the main action ... but I'm pretty glad with how it turned out, and the prompt take is MUCH better.

This is a continuation of the Boots & Hearts story from week one, but you don't necessarily need to read it to get this one.  In case you're interested though, the link for week one is here.  Thanks for reading, everyone, and I hope you enjoy!  Oh, and I'll be very curious if anyone can pick out all the Genesis references in this one.

October is bullying awareness month, something I hadn't realized until after I started writing this piece.  Despite that, I want to dedicate this to anyone who's ever been on the receiving end of a bully.  I've been there and it hurts.  Just know that you are loved and that no matter what you may think, there are others who've been where you are and who know, to some degree, what you're going through.  You are not alone in this, and you WILL get through it.

Title:  Follow You, Follow Me
Ratings/Warnings: PG-ish, warnings for bullies.
Word Count:  Umm... long.  Very long.

Brigits Flame Week One: First Impressions

First time back in the contest in a very long time ... and it shows.  Not my best writing, AND the prompt is a bit of a stretch.

Anyway, this piece sees the return of some characters I'd created earlier this year: Boots and Hearts.  This story is about how they first met and it will be a serial for the month.  It's a little different in tone from the first piece, but I tried to match the same whimsy.  Sooo...  Enjoy!

Brainstorning: BF October

Alright, I'm pretty certain I know WHO I'm gonna be writing about this month: Boots and Hearts.  I've been wanting to get back to those two for a while now and something about them (probably Hearts) is screaming October is it.  It'll be another serial piece, I think, just to gear up for NaNo.  (Plus, I'm hoping to get another story under my belt for the compilation I wanna put together for these two characters)

And I know I wanna do something Halloween-themed for them, but not overtly so.  Maybe something ghost story related, which would work well with the "under fire" portion of the prompt.  Still working on ways to add in all that jazz, aside from having it be Hearts's latest battle cry ... though that'd be kinda funny.

Anyway, all, that's just what I'm initially thinking at the moment.  What's going on with you guys?  Any initial thoughts and ideas?  Something you want to write but aren't sure how to tie together?  Let's talk it out!
